Well, judging by my comments during that maze muppet movie, I don't find them very endearing, either. "Look, there's that ugly baby, again!" Man, I'll make a great parent.
Newborns are pretty ugly in general because their faces are all swollen from being squashed to pieces and they've been stuffed into the fetal position for months. I think when people say newborns are cute they mean tiny and delicate. But once they hit a few months, I'm a sucker for little kids. My favorite calling was nursery leader.
